Just another High School Life

Every Teenage Girl Should Read This September 7, 2009

So i’ve noticed that tons of girls have self esteem issues just because they don’t have a boyfriend or because guys supposedly don’t like them. That is actually a pretty big issue. I was one of those people. It sucks being that girl without a guy when ur best friend or all your other friends seem to go to from to guy to guy to guy without a problem. Then I realized that those people tend to be the ones who lose themselves and forget their values and the value of helping other people with the self esteem issue. Like those girls who go and quite chipperly accept 3 dozen roses from their boyfriend on valentines day while there are tons of her single friends around her about to break down because of it. Or those girls who suddenly make their boyfriend their entire world and stop hanging out with their friends.

Well I’ve personally decided that I’m done with this stupid stuff. Honestly, if you are single you are so much cooler and easier to relate to than anyone with a boyfriend and that’s the truth. No girl needs some stupid guy to make her feel complete or to knock her off her feet or to be that Prince Charming. You can be independent and happy and loved and successful without some loser guy by your side. I can say on behalf of all my single ladies out there to know that you don’t need any guy to be happy and i can say that I personally have your back. For all my girls who have been cheated on or cried over some guy who wasn’t right to them, who ever he was, honestly wasn’t worth it at all. No guy is worth your tears. Stay Strong and fight the Prince Charming that every girl seems to be looking for. Stay strong, independent, and fight the prince charming idea. Support eachother and keep ur self esteem up. No girl, needs to depend on any guy. And to all my single ladies in the world who are stressing over it, be proud of your independence. and stay that way.

love,

ava.

Role Models. September 6, 2009

I’ve realized that just about everybody needs role models. Someone to look up to and decide you want to be like. Somebody you can talk to about life.  Somebody to support and you and to let you think “hm…what would they do in this situation?”. Role Models help you get through a lot and they are good to have. Thankfully, I have many. They are all great, unfortunately I haven’t stayed in touch with them all. So if you do have role models, please do tell them so they know they are appreciated. A thing you can do to try and be a better person, is try to be a role model. Whenever you are about to do something stupid or something you shouldn’t, just think to yourself  “would i be setting a good example?”. That thought has totally saved me from some really really really dumb events. just thought i’d share this tiny epiphany with you

I would pick Biz Markie over any of these guys August 17, 2009

Hey its ava.By the way, if you don’t know who Biz Markie is, just go to youtube and search “Biz Markie Just a Friend” and make sure to watch the whole video. So anyway this morning i woke up, and nobody else was awake so i turned on the radio to keep me entertained. It was some hip hop station. And I love dancing to hip hop songs, but if you really listen to what they say, it is the dumbest most ignorant stuff I’ve ever heard! As much as i love the new artist Drake from that show degrassi…the first line in his song called Best Ever Had is: “you know a lotta girls be thinkin my songs are about them. this is not to get confused, this ones for you”. But then he goes and does a song with Lil Wayne called Every Girl, and says things about how he would love to do it with every girl. So i could understand the confusion around that. and SERIOUSLY who would want to go out with a guy who says stuff like that??? Imagine going out with drake or lil wayne and whenever someone asks you who your with, having to say “Oh yea my boyfriend’s that rapper who makes songs that are disrespectful and demeaning to women.”

Then theres some rappers or “artists” who just go and say something stupid. Like T-Pain in his song bartender.  he says something along the lines of “She made us drinks,to drink. We drunk ‘em, got drunk”. That is some true rocket science. And I’m not trying to diss any rappers, but really how can i respect someone who makes their living off of making songs that are demeaning to women. like for real? WOW. Plus I swear I almost peed myself listening to the things that T-Pain tried to make rhyme in his song Can’t Believe It. Mansion and Wisconsin? but oh wait, its okay because he pronounced it WiscAnsin.pretty soon he’ll be making up ALL of the words in his songs.

Then theres Lil John & The Eastside Boyz with their song that everybody knows, Get Low. I don’t think I even need to go into how ridiculously stupid that song is.

Oh yea and in the song Mrs.Officer, Lil Wayne does this wierd laughing thing every now and then. And his voice already sounds sort of bizzare and demonic, but then that laugh is like the devil is choking on something. I don’t even know how to describe it better. He goes, ” I said lady whats ya number she said 911″ and then its this creepy little laugh that half sounds like a scream. so its more like “I said lady whats ya number she said 911 AAHAOAHAHAOFUWAWIAFHA!” cuz thats just about what it sounded like.

Well anyway, I g2g. I’m baby sitting today. I’ll tell you how that goes. see ya!
